Matt & Polly Wogg in the Morning Minimize

Matt Herkimer

I'm the last of the original Frog squad having been here doing morning since 1988 (With the exception of the first year when I did the 3-7 shift). The reasons I've stayed so (too) long? I love the area, I love country music, I appreciate my beloved co-workers and no one else will hire me.

My favorite movies are "Casablanca", "Citizen Kane" and anything with the Marx Brothers. Musically I'm all over the board but I do harbor a soft spot for late 80's-early 90's country as in Rosanne Cash, Dwight Yoakam, Mavericks, Kathy Mattea, Rodney Crowell and Mary Chapin Carpenter.

In my spare time I like to golf, hit the antique stores ( I collect old magazines), work out at the gym, watch classic movies and eat ice cream. I also do a lot of bird-watching but it sounds like a geeky thing to do so I won't mention it.

My goals include staying at the Frog til they drag me out kicking and screaming, see my daughter marry well and live to see (and utilize) the first effective hair-regrowth treatment.

My radio career began in Watertown NY at Froggy 97. From there it was a trip across country from a Froggy station in Ohio and another in Kentucky. I tried being normal at a station in Arizona but I've always been a frog at heart. I was born a loooong time ago in Gananoque Ontario Canada. I've called the US my home since 1995.

In my spare time I love to play golf, when it's not snowing or Texas Hold Em poker. I'm a reality freak. I TIVO everything from Idol to Big Brother.

As far as country music goes, I'm a junkie. I love Keith Urban and Sugarland and enjoy anything with a great message.

Tonight is the night.  The red carpet is out for the stars in Nashville as the CMA awards are handed out.  Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood host the show.  Tune in tomorrow for a list of all the winners.

And speaking of the CMA's, Toby Keith is spending his night the same way he's spent it over the past 4 years - at home.  Toby says he has no respect from the country music industry, so this is his way of returning the favor.  Toby has been nominated for 27 CMAs over the years, but has only won 2.

It's down to the final 4.  Maurice Green was sent packing on last night's Dancing with the Stars leaving Cody, Warren, Lance and Brooke to battle it out in the semi-finals next Monday.  Last night also saw the return of Julianne Hough.  She even danced with her brother Derek just 2 weeks after having surgery.  The remaining contestants take on 2 numbers next week to dance their way into the finals.

Jewel has teamed up with Mary Kay to help kiss domestic violence goodbye.  She's collected kisses from several country and Hollywood stars for this year's "A Kiss for Country" campaign.  Everyone planted a juicy kiss on a card and signed it.  Check em out at www.ubid.com.  All the proceeds benefit domestic violence prevention

Blake Shelton is in the dog house with Miranda Lambert.  She just celebrated her birthday, not with just 1 party but with 3.  Blake has been busy promoting his new album and he was 30 minutes late Monday.  And to make matters worse, his football team, the Arizona Cardinals were playing Monday night...so he watched the game instead.  Blake says Miranda still wasn't talking to him yesterday.  But the good news....Blakes team beat the San Franciso 49er's.

Jennifer Aniston is finally speaking out about comments made by the woman who is now with her ex.  Aniston calls Angelina Jolie's 2006 revelations about her relationship with Brad Pitt "uncool."  Read the full story in the latest Vogue.

Will Smith's 10 year old song is poised to become the next Karate Kid.  Jaden Smith has been tapped to star in a remake of the 1984 movie that starred Ralph Macchio and Pat Morita.  WAX ON, WAX OFF

Jesse Metcalfe of Desperate Housewives is in a wheelchair after taking a nasty fall in Monaco.  He tumbled off a nightclub balcony, dropping 40 feet.  Luckily no major injuries or broken bones.
