Matt & Polly Wogg in the Morning Minimize

Matt Herkimer

I'm the last of the original Frog squad having been here doing morning since 1988 (With the exception of the first year when I did the 3-7 shift). The reasons I've stayed so (too) long? I love the area, I love country music, I appreciate my beloved co-workers and no one else will hire me.

My favorite movies are "Casablanca", "Citizen Kane" and anything with the Marx Brothers. Musically I'm all over the board but I do harbor a soft spot for late 80's-early 90's country as in Rosanne Cash, Dwight Yoakam, Mavericks, Kathy Mattea, Rodney Crowell and Mary Chapin Carpenter.

In my spare time I like to golf, hit the antique stores ( I collect old magazines), work out at the gym, watch classic movies and eat ice cream. I also do a lot of bird-watching but it sounds like a geeky thing to do so I won't mention it.

My goals include staying at the Frog til they drag me out kicking and screaming, see my daughter marry well and live to see (and utilize) the first effective hair-regrowth treatment.

My radio career began in Watertown NY at Froggy 97. From there it was a trip across country from a Froggy station in Ohio and another in Kentucky. I tried being normal at a station in Arizona but I've always been a frog at heart. I was born a loooong time ago in Gananoque Ontario Canada. I've called the US my home since 1995.

In my spare time I love to play golf, when it's not snowing or Texas Hold Em poker. I'm a reality freak. I TIVO everything from Idol to Big Brother.

As far as country music goes, I'm a junkie. I love Keith Urban and Sugarland and enjoy anything with a great message.

Julianne Hough will be taking a break from Dancing with the Stars.  She has endometriosis and is having surgery today to remove her appendix.  If her partner Cody makes it through tonight's elimination, he'll be paired with Edyta (who was the 1st celeb to be voted off) until Julianne is ready to return.

In other Dancing news.....Topping last night's leader board, the couple who went from worst to 1st....Lance & Lacey.  Top scorer each week, Brook Burke danced through a foot injury and ended up in 2nd place.  Cloris Leachman is again at the bottom with only 15 points and should go home tonight, unless her massive fan base comes through 1 more time.  If that happens, Susan Lucci may be packing her bags.  We'll have the results tomorrow morning at 8:10.

No Star Struck winner this morning....so that means at 7:10 tomorrow, we'll have 6 tix up for grabs to see Keith Anderson at the Turning Stone Showroom Nov 8th.

New CD's in stores today....Toby Keith "That Don't Make Me a Bad Guy" which includes his #1 single "She Never Cried In Front Of Me."  Rascal Flatts has their first Greatest Hits package on store shelves with their new single "Here" on it.  Also new in stores today, The first X-mas song from Faith Hill has been put to print.  The songwriters to the lyrics to "A Baby Changes Everything" and wrote a short story with the same title.

The horror continues for Jennifer Hudson.  Police found her 7 year old nephew shot to death inside an abandoned SUV.  Just like her mother and brother, she was the one to identify the body.  No charges have been filed in the murder but Jennifer's brother in law is in custody on a parole violation charge.

They could be coming back to TV.  The first Bachlorette couple, Trista and Ryan have had their life plan out on TV.  They met and fell in love on the Bachlorette TV show, then had their wedding on TV...now they're in talks to star in their own show.
