Matt & Polly Wogg in the Morning Minimize

Matt Herkimer

I'm the last of the original Frog squad having been here doing morning since 1988 (With the exception of the first year when I did the 3-7 shift). The reasons I've stayed so (too) long? I love the area, I love country music, I appreciate my beloved co-workers and no one else will hire me.

My favorite movies are "Casablanca", "Citizen Kane" and anything with the Marx Brothers. Musically I'm all over the board but I do harbor a soft spot for late 80's-early 90's country as in Rosanne Cash, Dwight Yoakam, Mavericks, Kathy Mattea, Rodney Crowell and Mary Chapin Carpenter.

In my spare time I like to golf, hit the antique stores ( I collect old magazines), work out at the gym, watch classic movies and eat ice cream. I also do a lot of bird-watching but it sounds like a geeky thing to do so I won't mention it.

My goals include staying at the Frog til they drag me out kicking and screaming, see my daughter marry well and live to see (and utilize) the first effective hair-regrowth treatment.

My radio career began in Watertown NY at Froggy 97. From there it was a trip across country from a Froggy station in Ohio and another in Kentucky. I tried being normal at a station in Arizona but I've always been a frog at heart. I was born a loooong time ago in Gananoque Ontario Canada. I've called the US my home since 1995.

In my spare time I love to play golf, when it's not snowing or Texas Hold Em poker. I'm a reality freak. I TIVO everything from Idol to Big Brother.

As far as country music goes, I'm a junkie. I love Keith Urban and Sugarland and enjoy anything with a great message.

Toni Braxton won't be getting her "breakthru" dance.  She was sent packing on this week's Dancing with the Stars on ABC.  Susan Lucci was in the bottom 2.  Julianne Hough and Cody Linley got the encore dance this week and Brooke Burke continues her reign at the top of the leader board.

Julianne Hough had to be taken to the hospital after Tuesday's results show.  She did NOT collapse.  She dealt with stomach pains all day that got worse as the day wore on.  She stayed the night and is said to be doing well.  Her and partner Cody Linley will be back ready to dance again Monday night.

NEW MOVIES out this weekend....The kids will want to see "High School Musical 3: Senior Year".  While they are at that show you could take in "Saw V" or "Pride & Glory" with Ed Norton and Colin Farrell.  The Angelina Jolie movie "Changeling" opens in select theaters as well this weekend.  For a listing of movies at the Glenwood Oneida Movieplex, click HERE

Congrats to Keith Schumacher, Michele Beach of Clinton and Renee Miranda of Rome.  They all got Star Struck this week and won tix to see Keith Anderson in the Turning Stone Showroom Nov 8th.  For a complete list of all the shows coming to Turning Stone click HERE

Carrie Underwood has a double.  She was at Madame Tussaud's in New York for the unveiling of herself.  She says it's so real it's scary.

Speaking of doubles.  Tina Fey is playing Sarah Palin on SNL and if they ever need someone to play her husband, they should call Tim McGraw.  Sarah says some of the kids back home think her husband looks like Tim, especially when he wears his hat.  Hey u never know?!

Faith Hill gave herself a present for her 41st birthday.  She posed in a bathing suit for the cover of Shape magazine.  STILL SMOKIN at 41.

Ron Howard has resurrected his classic TV characters "Opie" and "Richie Cunningham" in an effort to get Barack Obama elected.  It's online at www.funnyordie.com
