Matt & Polly Wogg in the Morning Minimize

Matt Herkimer

I'm the last of the original Frog squad having been here doing morning since 1988 (With the exception of the first year when I did the 3-7 shift). The reasons I've stayed so (too) long? I love the area, I love country music, I appreciate my beloved co-workers and no one else will hire me.

My favorite movies are "Casablanca", "Citizen Kane" and anything with the Marx Brothers. Musically I'm all over the board but I do harbor a soft spot for late 80's-early 90's country as in Rosanne Cash, Dwight Yoakam, Mavericks, Kathy Mattea, Rodney Crowell and Mary Chapin Carpenter.

In my spare time I like to golf, hit the antique stores ( I collect old magazines), work out at the gym, watch classic movies and eat ice cream. I also do a lot of bird-watching but it sounds like a geeky thing to do so I won't mention it.

My goals include staying at the Frog til they drag me out kicking and screaming, see my daughter marry well and live to see (and utilize) the first effective hair-regrowth treatment.

My radio career began in Watertown NY at Froggy 97. From there it was a trip across country from a Froggy station in Ohio and another in Kentucky. I tried being normal at a station in Arizona but I've always been a frog at heart. I was born a loooong time ago in Gananoque Ontario Canada. I've called the US my home since 1995.

In my spare time I love to play golf, when it's not snowing or Texas Hold Em poker. I'm a reality freak. I TIVO everything from Idol to Big Brother.

As far as country music goes, I'm a junkie. I love Keith Urban and Sugarland and enjoy anything with a great message.

Happy Columbus DAY!!!

Confrogulations to Pam Garrow of Verona.  She was the grand prize Sugarland winner.  Pam not only won tix to the sold out show at Turning Stone Thursday she will be going backstage to meet Ashton Shephard, Kellie Pickler AND Sugarland.  Candy Madore of Westmoreland was our runner up and wins tix to the show as well.

Speaking of Turning Stone, there was no Star Struck winner this morning for Collin Ray tix.  He's in the Turning Stone showroom Oct 20th.  Tune in tomorrow morning at 7:10 for a chance to win 4 tix to the show.

It was a win it before you can buy it Monday.  Debbie Childs of Rome picked up Kenny Chesney's new CD Lucky Old Sun.  We're giving them away all day so keep listening to win.

And speaking of Kenny's new CD....if you're looking for fast paced party music, this isn't it.  Lucky Old Sun is a lot like his previous CD Old Blue Chair.  It has a Carribean feel with a few duets.  1 with Willie Nelson and 1 with Dave Matthews of the Dave Matthews Band.  There is 1 up tempo song on the entire album.  It's more of a CD you'd put in when you've had a tough day and just want to escape.  Close your eyes and imagine being in the Carribean lying in a hammock with an umbrellaed drink.

Sara Evans has teamed up with Libby's foods to encourage more families to have dinner together.  You could win a chance to have dinner backstage with Sara at one of her shows by sharing your dinner stories at www.getbacktothetable.com

Hugh Hefner loses another one.  The 2nd of his 3 girlfriends is said to be moving out by the end of the year.  Hef says he's going to replace both girls with a pair of 19 year old twins.

Lisa Marie Presley is a mom of twins.  The girls were delivered by C seciton and all are said to be doing well.  No word on what names she picked out

John McCain and David Letterman will have a chance to kiss and make up Thursday when McCain returns to the Late Show, 3 weeks after he blew Letterman off for an interview with Katie Couric

Cloris Leachman has been named the Grand Marshall of the Rose Parade.  She's thrilled she'll be in a parade older than she is.  And speaking of Cloris, she's back on the dance floor tonight for Dancing with the Stars on ABC at 8.
